The metal cutting oil can completely protect the CNC machine tool itself, cutting tools and workpieces. It has a strong lubricating extreme pressure effect, effectively protects the tool and prolongs its service life, and can obtain extremely high workpiece precision and surface finish. Suitable for light-duty cutting operations. Extreme pressure cutting oil is added with sulfur, phosphorus and chlorine extreme pressure additives to meet the requirements of deep metal processing such as ferrous metals and gears. Active sulfur and other compounds are added to active cutting oil, which is used for deep processing such as deep hole drilling and tapping of high alloy materials.
What is the role of metal cutting oil:
In metal cutting, the cutting is carried out on the new surface every time, the speed varies from millimeters to hundreds of meters per minute, and the pressure is as high as 2 to 3 GPa. In addition to friction during cutting, there is also intramolecular friction between the tool and the cutting metal, and the interface temperature in the cutting area can reach 600-800 °C. Such high temperature and high pressure will reduce the strength and hardness of the tool, so the cutting oil must have four functions of cooling, lubrication, cleaning and rust prevention.
In mechanical cutting fluid, when using CNC machine tools to cut, according to different cutting methods, there are mainly turning, iron, drilling, boring, etc. According to different removal data, there are rough machining, semi-finishing and finishing; according to different tool data, there are High-speed cemented carbide, ceramics, diamond, cubic boron nitride, etc., according to the different machine tools, there are mainly machine tools that explicitly require the use of oil-based cutting fluids, machine tools that do not require the use of machine tools, machine tools that produce single pieces in small batches, mass production or automation. Production line (flexible manufacturing system), etc.
Choice of different tools:
In many cases, in order to avoid damage caused by uneven heating, when cutting with carbide tools, it is customary to choose dry cutting. However, in CNC machine tools, it is best to use cutting fluid in terms of power, comprehensive cost, and processing quality. When machining with cemented carbide tools, when the cutting speed is relatively high, water-based cutting fluid is generally used, which needs to be used continuously with a large flow. Pay attention to inquiries to ensure that the nozzle is always aligned with the cutting direction; when cutting with high-speed steel tools, the cutting speed is low. Generally, oil-based cutting fluid with a smooth finish is used.
Ceramic tools, cermet tools, diamond and cubic boron nitride tools are mainly suitable for high-speed cutting, dry cutting, hard cutting and other processing methods without the use of cutting fluids. Sometimes, to avoid excessive cutting temperatures, cutting fluid should be used in most cases when using these tools. Due to the high cutting speed, water-based cutting fluids are recommended.
